Emilio’s connection to architecture began at home, watching his family, who immigrated from Mexico, design and build the house where he grew up. The experience showed him how craft, care, and memory can shape a place, and continues to influence his approach to design.
His curiosity in craft introduced him to a wide range of tools that inform his design process. He is proficient in digital modeling, rendering, 3D printing, and hand sketching. At TEF, Emilio contributes to community, historic, recreation, and civic projects, working closely with clients, consultants, and team members to understand project goals and carry them forward. Beyond his project work, he is active in mentorship across the studio, sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, and supporting professional growth.
Emilio holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from UC Berkeley.
