The phased expansion of Live Oak School, an independent K - 8th grade school established in 1971 in Potrero Hill, doubles the capacity of its campus while enhancing academic amenities that support the potential and promise of each student. A seismic upgrade of the former coffee plant building, new fire/life safety systems, modifications to circulation patterns, and a variety of new, highly flexible learning spaces for large and small scale collaboration, as well as one-on-one instruction, heighten active learning and discovery, curricular integration, and collegiality. Program features include a new first floor “Grand Hall” for assemblies, meetings and performances, an adjacent Extended Care room, full service kitchen and dining facilities, and classrooms.
