Nestled in the Berkeley foothills with spectacular views of the Bay, the Greek Theatre was designed by John Galen Howard at the turn of the 20th Century and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. TEF’s master plan establishes a long term vision for the legendary outdoor venue consistent with its heritage and continued vitality as a unique performance destination and fixture in the academic culture of campus. The plan identifies preservation compliant solutions to deficiencies and limitations of the site, including disabled access, loading and storage, concession stands, trash and recycling facilities, restrooms, food prep upgrades, power upgrades, and uniform lighting at paths of travel.
