Named for its historic role at the chocolate factory, the Ghirardelli Square Power House is the new San Francisco office for Compass, a technology-driven real estate platform. Previously a vacant building, the Power House is one of a limited number of outward facing components of Ghirardelli Square. The Compass project revitalizes this corner of the square and contributes to its dynamic environment. The space is an adaptive reuse of a 1910’s era building and features iconic views of Aquatic Park, Alcatraz and Angel Island. Balancing the industrial nature of the building with the client’s brand aesthetic was a major driving factor in the interior design, resulting in a unique, open office environment.
