Giving Back at TEF

By TEF / March 13, 2023

At TEF, our mission is to strengthen community through design.  As part of this core commitment, and since our founding, we have cultivated an innate culture of charitable giving, encompassing donations to non-profit organizations, pro-bono work as a practice and through the support of the individual community-serving passions of staff, and by sponsorship of non-profit events, conferences, and fundraisers. As the firm has grown, charitable giving has expanded commensurately.

TEF’s giving manifests itself in several distinct ways. First, we nurture relationships with several impactful non-profit organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco, and provide pro bono services to meet their ongoing needs.  Donated services have proved to be especially valuable to these organizations as they evaluate their needs and ways to best engage with the communities they serve. We often provide programming support, space needs assessments, zoning and code analyses, building conditions assessments and test fits.  A second way that TEF exercises its values around giving:  our partnership with Tipping Point Community, an organization which funds and supports numerous Bay Area nonprofits. Through this organization, we are able to provide gratis architectural advice to grant recipients.

FInally, TEF donates to and sponsors community based organizations, with a particular focus on education, architecture, and historic preservation.  They include:
